Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
