Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
